There is never a time like ‘right now’ to re-evaluate and take an accounting of one’s self. Each day is the beginning of a new year. Birthdays, anniversaries, relationships, religions, work, countries, trees, etc., each have established dates that begin their own “New Year.”
Rosh Hashanah literally translates as the “head” of the year. “Head” reflects thought and wisdom, making this a time for reflection. The Hebrew word for year is “shana,” which also means “change.” This month in the Hebrew calendar marks the seventh month since the time that the Jewish people came out of Egypt. It is a time for us to seriously reflect on our personal relationship with the Creator. It is a month full of days that are set aside, to reflect upon our continuing relationship and connection with the true source of all existence.
